Martin and Mychael from UltramapGlobal were at The Submarine Networks EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Exhibition in Islington, London, in February 2025. Submarine Networks EMEA is the UK’s largest annual subsea connectivity event for the global subsea market.

We took the opportunity to chat with three UltramapGlobal customers, looking for useful soundbites about our working relationship – from the outside-in. Here’s what they said (a 30 second read).

I was one of UltramapGlobal’s first customers. I first met Martin at a UKCPC (UK Cable Protection Committee) meeting, I think.

The company I was with at the time was getting faults. Fishing boats dredging in the Irish Sea were problematic. We were having two or more cable strikes each year.

To be honest it took me quite a while to persuade key decision makers to appoint UltramapGlobal. But eventually, UltramapGlobal was commissioned. And in the first six months they were responsible for preventing a cable strike with a repair cost of half a million dollars. In the blink of an eye, UltramapGlobal fees were covered for years. And renewals have happened, to this day, every year since.
