World’s Largest Wind Turbine Takes On Typhoon & Comes Out On Top.

On 1st September, at the Zhangpu Liuao offshore wind farm in China, wind speeds reached around 85 kilometres per hour during typhoon ‘Haiku’.

Goldwind’s GWH252-16MW wind turbine, installed at the Zhangpu Liuao offshore wind farm produced 384.1 megawatt-hours in a 24-hour period, setting a new world record for an individual wind turbine in the given period.

The electricity produced during this 24-hour period met the daily needs of nearly 170,000 people.
